Its been a while since my last post. But this one is definitely worth it!
If you’re a Flex coder, and you’re sick of not having a good framework….you need to take a look at Cairngorm. This is Adobe’s answer to that very need! It is an event driven framework that i have just begun to use. There is still a lot i need to learn, but the thing that has stuck out to me the most is the use of the model. In Cairngorm, there is a page called the model. The page is a singular page to store public global variable, which you can access and modify anywhere from anywhere in your project. Brilliant! Made my life so much easier… Its separated into model, commands, views, and events. It is very easy to get the hang of within a couple of hours. And unlike some frameworks…*symfony cough cough*….it is very simple to install and get running. If you know how to add a .swc file as a library path to your project, then you’re set and ready to go. I love flex enough, but this has just made it that much better for me. If you’re a Flex coder and haven’t checked this out yet, do yourself a favor…GO ALREADY!!!!
